One-day Seagrass Footstool Weaving Workshops
My small group workshops offer you a one-day Seagrass seat weaving experience, you will go home with a beautiful woven footstool in a choice of natural beech, or a painted frame, and treasure it forever. Your footstool frame is locally made using the highest quality beech wood and will be woven with sustainable seagrass cord. Your footstool will be small enough to finish in the day course, but a great size for your feet, obviously! I’m delighted to now offer a beautiful child’s chair frame. Refreshments of tea, coffee, biscuits are provided, sometimes a home made cake if I’ve baked! Please bring a packed lunch. Courses hosted at The Bentley Road Baker HQ include bottomless cake and lunch included in the ticket price!

All materials included, just arrive with a smile!
All materials to weave your chosen project are included in your ticket price. I will guide and support you to create your footstool or chair in an informal and enjoyable learning environment. I can’t emphasise enough how enjoyable this craft is. A heritage craft and therefore complex enough that you will feel that with no previous experience you have truly achieved a new skill by the end of the day, yet mindful enough to allow you to chat to your co attendees. It can be a little tough on the hands and you will mostly be on your feet so this should be taken into consideration.

Hi, I’m Felicity! And I’m so excited to share all things Seagrass weaving with you in one of my small group workshops. I have condensed everything I’ve learned over the years to make this lovely hands-on workshop day a joy to be involved in. I’ve been running these courses along side my day job as an upholsterer since December 2023 and I’ve been amazed at how popular they have become but also how much I get from teaching them!
My teaching style is friendly and engaging and I get a huge kick from seeing all of my attendees leave at the end of the day with a beautiful complete piece of furniture!
I’m delighted to be able to offer my workshops in a number of venues. However, my ‘flagship’ venue at the Incredible Bentley Road Baker HQ offers the extra bonus of being completely catered including bottomless cake and delicious lunch!!!
